Working from Bali isn't what you think

nomadtravelremote working

I tried working from Bali for a month. Not because I wanted to be an Instagram digital nomad, but because I was curious.

Spoiler: it’s not what they tell you.

The reality

The wifi drops every 20 minutes. Calls with Italian clients are at 4 AM because of the time zone. The coworking costs as much as an office in Milan. And loneliness arrives, even when you’re surrounded by people.

What I learned

Remote work works better when you have a stable base. Traveling and working at the same time requires a discipline that few truly have.

That said, that month taught me a lot about myself. I realized I don’t need a beach to be productive. I need a routine.

And I can build a routine anywhere.
